State criticizes lax Detroit Wayne mental health agency oversight of Medicaid funds

Sue Mosey, executive director of Midtown Detroit Inc., said the nonprofit economic development group’s recent survey of Midtown residents found pent-up demand for service businesses for entertainment, personal care and different dining options beyond the bars and higher-end restaurants that have opened in recent years.

Midtown Detroit Inc. is actively recruiting service industry businesses to meet the demands of residents and workers in Midtown, New Center and TechTown, Mosey said.

“We’re really interested in more service businesses now,” Mosey said in an interview for the Crain’s “Detroit Rising” podcast. “We’re really short on those.”

Mosey and James Cadariu, roastmaster at the Great Lakes Coffee Roasting Co., discussed business development and mobility in Midtown in an interview for this week’s podcast.
